Recently, Wenzhou Artificial Leather Co., Ltd. obtained the certificate of origin of Wenzhou City's first “Framework Agreement on Economic Cooperation across the Taiwan Strait†(ecfa) through the Municipal Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The visa amount is USD 79572.38. With this certificate, Taiwanese customers can enjoy a tariff of USD 796. Relief.
Li Xueru, manager of the International Trade Department of the company, said that this is the first ecfa certificate that Wenzhou received after ecfa was formally put into effect on January 1 this year. The mainland's 267 products exported to Taiwan can enjoy a range of 7% to 100%. Preferential tariffs of a large scale entered the Taiwan market, involving petrochemicals, machinery, textiles and other four types of industries. The certificate of origin is like an "identity card" for goods. Only products that prove that the goods are of mainland China or Taiwan origin can enjoy ecfa preferential tariff treatment.
In 2010, a total of 970 preferential certificates of origin were issued, involving various regional preferential certificates of origin such as the Asia Pacific Free Trade Area, China-Singapore, China-New Zealand, and China-Peru.
