Thomas Heatherwick (Thomas Heatherwick) was born in the United Kingdom in 1970. After studying 3D design at Manchester Polytechnic School, he entered the Royal College of Art. He graduated in 1994 with a bachelor of arts degree.
Heswick was once named as the architect of "the most creative wizard in contemporary Britain" by the British "Times". At the age of 36, he won the "Prince Philip Design Award", known as the "Oscar of Engineering and Technology", and became the youngest royal industrial designer in history. In 2010, he was awarded the Lubekin Prize by the Royal Institute of Architects. Heswick is currently an honorary member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (the most authoritative organization in the world of architecture) and a senior member of the Royal College of Art. He has been awarded honorary doctorate degrees by the Royal College of Art, University of Dundee and the University of Manchester. In 2013, he was elected a Royal Fellow of the Royal College of Art in London, England. In the same year, he received the Order of the British Empire Commander (CBE) for his contribution to the design industry.
Heswick founded Heatherwick Studio in 1994, when he was only 24 years old. The studio aims to "combine architecture, design and sculpture in a single practice." The work spans many fields such as architecture, design, sculpture, furniture, fashion, and public art.
