The identification of plastics can be done by scientific methods such as infrared spectrometers, paramagnetic resonance instruments, and X-rays, but it can also be identified by a relatively simple method. The following briefly describes the simple authentication method:
Sensory identification
Sensory identification (organizing students to participate in the identification of plastics)
(one look
First look at the color and transparency of the product.
Transparent products are: polystyrene and plexiglass.
Translucent products are: low density polyethylene, cellulose plastic, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, epoxy resin, unsaturated resin.
Opaque products are: high density polyethylene, polyurethane and various colored plastics.
(2) Listening
When hit with a hard object, the sound is different, the polystyrene is like a metal sound, and the plexiglass is thicker and boring.
(three) touch
Touching the product by hand feels like waxy, it must be a polyolefin material. Secondly, the degree of softness and hardness can be simply expressed as follows:
Hard→soft
Polystyrene→polypropylene→polyamide→organic glass→high density polyethylene→hard polyvinyl chloride→low density polyethylene→soft polyvinyl chloride
Then test the surface hardness and draw the surface with different hardness pencils to make a difference:
Polyethylene plastic with HB pencil can draw line marks;
Polypropylene plastic with ZH pencil can draw line marks.
Because of the difference in people's physiological conditions, the sensory identification does not feel the same, so this method is for reference only.
