Coal mine production and mine water

Since coal was exploited on a large scale as an energy source, in the traditional sense, coal mining production always goes hand in hand with that muddy mine water and has flown to today. With the development of science and people’s awareness of environmental protection, there should be a new understanding of mine water. From natural emissions to governance emissions, from emissions to use, to achieve the transformation from waste to resource development and utilization.

The mine water comes from the groundwater system and belongs to the same water resources. Since the excavation of the production emerges from the rock formation, it is clean water before it is polluted. The amount of water depends on the underground geological conditions and production methods. Usually, the ratio of coal to water produced is between 1:0.5 and 1:5, individual mines are as high as 1:10, and daily influx of water is as small as several thousand cubic meters, and as many as tens of thousands of cubic meters. Due to the production of pollution, the mine water becomes turbid, has a high content of suspended matter, and has a large amount of sediments. After being discharged without treatment, it causes serious pollution to the flowing river. However, it has not been dealt with because of complicated processing links and high investment costs in governance projects.

Since the 1990s, the treatment and comprehensive utilization of mine water has achieved good results in some domestic coal mines. Take the Xinji No. 2 Mine of the SDIC Xinji Energy Company as an example; the mine produces 3 million tons of coal annually, and the daily production of mine water is 10,000 cubic meters. In 1996, the mine invested 4 million yuan to build a mine water treatment project, which was completed in 1997. In June of the same year, it completed the initial comprehensive utilization system of mine water and supplemented the mine water supply for the production water system.

After continuous improvement in 1998 and 1999, the current scale of comprehensive utilization of mine water has reached 4,500 cubic meters per day. While ensuring that the mine water meets the discharge standards, it also obtains a large amount of production water, which saves more than 700,000 yuan in water consumption per year. . This year, the mine has also undergone a full-scale reconstruction and expansion of the mine's water treatment system to increase its treatment capacity and treatment levels so that the treated mine water energy will become domestic water. After the system is fully operational, it will save 1.5 million yuan in water costs each year. the above.

The large-scale development and utilization of mine water can not only achieve good social and economic benefits in terms of environmental protection, water conservation, and reduction of water costs, but it can also save a considerable amount of investment in water source construction projects.

Mine water is a precious and usable resource. Different coal mines can be developed and used according to their own actual conditions. For example, underground rock formations can be collected and discharged to surface water plants for domestic use without being polluted by production; many old There are different ground subsidence areas in the mining area, which can completely discharge the contaminated mine water, and can be reused after natural biochemical treatment.
