The Golden Sun demonstration project is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Finance of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the National Energy Administration. It is a demonstration of China’s promotion of technological progress and large-scale development of the photovoltaic power generation industry, the cultivation of strategic emerging industries, and the demonstration and application of photovoltaic power generation technologies in various fields. Specific actions for the industrialization of key technologies are planned to be completed in 2 to 3 years. The projects included in the Golden Sun demonstration project will, in principle, be subsidized by 50% of the total investment in the photovoltaic power generation system and its associated transmission and distribution projects. The independent photovoltaic power generation system in remote and non-electrical areas will be subsidized at 70% of the total investment.
