Literature 1 : Effects of prebiotics, probiotics and synbiotics in the diet of young pigs 2005
(Effects of probiotics, prebiotics and synbiotics on piglets in diets)
Test 1 design: 60 weaned piglets, 25 days old, 6.4 kg , and the test period was 21 days. Dietary treatments were: control (corn-soy-type diet without antibiotics), 0.25% oligofructose group, 0.2% compound probiotic group, 0.25% oligofructose + 0.2% compound probiotic group, 0.2% two probiotics Bacterial group.
Test 1 results:
1, All additive groups significantly increased the body weight gain of piglets.
2, All additive groups significantly increased the apparent digestibility of dry matter and crude protein, and significantly increased the apparent absorption rate of phosphorus and calcium.
3, The platelet count of piglets in the oligofructose + complex probiotic group was significantly higher than that in the oligofructose group.
4, The amount of E. coli in the feces of all the additive groups was significantly reduced.
5, Additives significantly altered the intestinal micro-ecology of piglets. The number of anaerobic lactic acid bacteria in piglet feces of oligofructose + complex probiotic group was significantly higher than that of the control group.
6, All additive groups significantly reduced ammonia levels in piglet feces.
Test 1 conclusion:
At the same time, the addition of probiotics and prebiotics has the greatest effect on nutrient digestibility, fecal microbes and growth rate of weaned piglets, but this effect is not cumulative when the probiotics and prebiotics are added separately.
Test 2 design:
20 lactating sows with 10 litters per litter . The four kinds of feed materials were treated as: control (without antibiotics), 0.2% oligofructose group, 0.3% probiotic group, 0.2% oligofructose + 0.3% probiotic group. The test date is from 7th day after birth to 1 day after weaning ( weaning at 21 days of age).
Test 2 results:
1, The average daily gain of oligofructose, oligofructose + probiotic group piglets was significantly higher than that of the control group.
2, There were no differences in lymphocyte and neutrophil levels in the blood of each group of piglets.
3, All additive groups significantly reduced the number of colonic E. coli in piglets.
4, All additive groups significantly increased the number of bifidobacteria in the ileum of piglets.
5, The probiotic group, oligofructose + probiotic group significantly increased the number of bifidobacteria in the colon of piglets.
Test 2 conclusion:
The addition of oligofructose or oligofructose + probiotics in the pre-weaning diet improves intestinal microbial and growth performance in piglets.
Literature 2: Effects of mannan oligosaccharides and  Lactobacillus mucosae  On the growth performance and immune response of weanling pigs challenged with  Escherichia coli  Lipopolysaccharides 2017
Effects of Mannan Oligosaccharide and Lactobacillus brevis on Growth Performance and Immune Response of Infected Escherichia Coli Lipopolysaccharide Weaned Piglets
Test design:
96 weaned piglets weighing 5.88 kg and 23 days of age . The test was designed using a factor of 2 x 2 . The basal diet is corn-soybean-type, free of plasma products and antibiotics. The addition level of yeast mannooligosaccharide was 0 , 0.1% , and the addition level of Lactobacillus brevis was 0 , 10 9 cfu/ head. Stages 1 and 2 were 0-7 days, 7-21 days after weaning, and all groups were fed the same diet at stage 3 ( 21-35 days after weaning ). On the 14th day of weaning , all piglets were intraperitoneally injected with 100 μg/kg body weight of Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide.
test results:
1 , 0-14 days, the Lactobacillus group significantly reduced the G:F of piglets .
2 , 14-21 days, G:F in the Lactobacillus group was significantly higher than the mannooligosaccharide + Lactobacillus group and the control group, but no difference with the mannooligosaccharide group.
3 , 28-35 days, the G:F of piglets in the Lactobacillus group was significantly reduced.
4. Compared with the non-mannose oligosaccharide group, the addition of mannooligosaccharide significantly increased plasma IgG levels on day 1 and 3 after piglet infection , and plasma IgG levels on day 14 and 21 after weaning .
At 5 and 21 days, the plasma IgA level of the piglets in the Lactobacillus group was significantly higher than that of the mannooligosaccharide group, the mannooligosaccharide + the Lactobacillus mucosa group, which was slightly higher than the control group.
6. Compared with the plasma IL-1β level of piglets on day 0 , the control group, mannooligosaccharide + Lactobacillus mucosa significantly increased plasma IL-1β levels on day 1 after piglet infection , but the other two groups did not change.
in conclusion:
The addition of Lactobacillus vaginalis to the diet of weaned piglets can increase the feed efficiency of the first week after E. coli lipopolysaccharide infection , and the addition of Lactobacillus vaginalis and mannooligosaccharides may increase the immunity of piglets.
