Application of p-methoxycinnamaldehyde in organic pigments

The production of organic pigments in China has developed rapidly in recent years. In 2001, the output of organic pigments in the world was 249,000 tons, and organic pigments in China accounted for 1/3 of world production. Although China's organic pigment production has increased substantially every year, it still maintains a low level of commodities and exports a large amount of original pigments. Therefore, the gentrification of pigment commodities is a subject that must be studied at present. In recent years, the US market research report pointed out that the world's organic pigments are divided into categories, with phthalocyanine blue and phthalocyanine green accounting for 29%, red lake 22%, monoazo 13%, disazo 12%, and naphthol AS 8%. Other azo pigments are 8% (azo groups account for more than 60%).

In order to improve the quality of organic pigment products, the professor from Xiangtan University started to improve the affinity with the hydrophobic part of organic pigments, and used p-methoxycinnamaldehyde as an aqueous dispersant to perform surface modification on phthalocyanine blue. As a result, it was found that the hydrophobic group can be combined with phthalocyanine blue molecules by van der Waals force and helium-anthraquinone force, and its hydrophilic group stretches to provide electric repulsion in water, so that the negative potential of the surface of the pigment particles increases, and the pigment particles are prevented from aggregating. dispersion. The addition of 0.5% to 3% of the above additives to phthalocyanine blue can increase the critical surface tension by 51%, reduce the water contact angle by 47%, and increase the dispersion stability of phthalocyanine blue by 29%.

The p-methoxycinnamaldehyde material is safe, non-toxic, less irritating to the skin than the lowest non-ionic surfactant, and has excellent biodegradability. Excellent performance, can be used as wetting agent, dispersant or emulsifier. It can be used after compounding with other surfactants and has obvious synergistic effect. After compounding, it not only can improve its application performance, but also can reduce the anionic surfactant irritation. Stable under alkaline conditions and stable under acidic conditions.

The modified product obtained by the use of p-methoxycinnamaldehyde builder has high glossiness in aqueous ink, more vivid green yellow and high color strength, and has the characteristics of acid resistance, alkali resistance, and heat resistance.
